Some parts of the driver are done, only writing/reading on/from the chip registers is left, and for that, I'm constantly examining the ALSA driver. I am, in fact, doing a port of Clemens Ladisch's CMI8788 drivers, for now only for Xonar D1, for the rest I'll integrate once I'll have a working one for my own card.


As I said before, I got very busy, and unfortunately, it kept going till I got a burn-out syndrome... So at that very moment, I'm resting. maybe I'll catch up with the driver, interesting and relaxing stuff


As simple as that, but the real problem is making the sort in the hundreds of constants and addresses that are written in the ALSA drivers, as those support a very wide range of CMI cards. I already extracted a bunch of them, just need to make a code that works for my card, public testing for D1 users, then when it's stable, adaptable code for every card I plan to support


I to own a card with the C-Media C8788 chip.. The HT Omega Claro Plus, Love this card. I've recently moved to OSX 10.7.3 Lion, and want to use this card... I'm willing to donate to this project after release of a working driver / kext file.


Just popping in to thank you OtaK, this doesn't happen very often, someone appearing out of nowhere writing a driver for unsupported hardware. And it's nice to hear about the valuable anonymous contribution, so another thank you to whoever provided that.

Let me first say that these drivers are free of charge for everyone. Those of you who appreciate my hard work and take pleasure in contributing, you can make a small donation (minimum $3 because of fees). Bear in mind you don't donate for ASUS/C-Media work, you do it for the work that I have done and the support I'm providing.

Driver for all supported cards. Includes 1825 audio drivers for Windows 10. Unlike previous audio drivers, the 1825 audio driver will only work in Windows 10 and later. Due to the number of known and possible issues, the 1825 audio driver should be considered beta quality.


How to uninstall 1825 v1.81 drivers: In order to avoid a system crash while uninstalling 1825 drivers you will need to play an audio file before proceeding with the uninstall process. Restart system after the uninstall process is done.


UNi Xonar drivers v1.64 and above will work with Windows 10 and Windows 11. There could be some issues that you could run into depending on audio settings used. Different drivers could work differently so if you encounter any issues try installing the other UNi Xonar versions. You will have the same issues with corresponding versions of ASUS drivers.


Apart from driver issues, there could be issues solely from Windows 10/11 sound system that would be fixed with future Windows updates. There is also a small chance that some things could break with future Windows updates. Here are some solutions on how to prevent a forceful Windows 10/11 standard or version update.


Before upgrading to 1809, you should uninstall the UNi Xonar drivers especially if you have v1.81a installed, as the update process might result in BSOD (#1). As a reminder, in order to avoid a system crash while uninstalling 1825 (v1.81a) drivers you will need to play an audio file before proceeding with the uninstall process. Restart the system after the uninstall process is done.


Standalone applications for changing settings or enhancing audio: 1. Standalone apps pack. Based on a script made by Virus. Before running the files, close any audio source/application. 1. In RMAA there are a couple of options that limit the frequency range, for example there is one in General-> "Analyze noise and distortions only in 20 Hz - 20 kHz range", did you unchecked this in all tests?2. In each case (Normal, Low DPC Latency etc.), along with setting the cards and Windows Sound->Speakers to 96kHz, you also needed to change the Line In "Default format" to 96 000 Hz in Windows Sound settings, was this done?3. Which UNi Xonar driver version, OS and Xonar card do you have?4. When you say "could not output more than 20Khz", I assume you checked this by viewing one or more of the graphs from RMAA result, which ones?5. Mention any settings you might have changed in RMAA over the default settings.6. Send me (in the form select "other reasons than above") your RMAA .sav results for each case.


after testing 3 different asus xonar sound cards(Xonar hdav 1.3)(Xonar stx)(xonar dx)with old and new Asus driver and new and old UNI driver on 3 different computers and disabled all inputs and changed all settings and used the latest (ASIO4) and read a lot on the internet, I have come to the conclusion that the problem with white noise on only Xonar stx is a problem which can NOT be solved in an easy way! The only solution is to replace the sound card with another sound card. Most likely a hardware problem with xonar stx! xonar stx ll is not without problems either!

NOTE:For a number of NICs, which are not currently supported "out of the box" by the illumos kernel or OpenIndiana distribution, over 30 open-sourced drivers covering many more chipsets and NIC models are available as part of the separate "Free NIC drivers for OpenSolaris" project by Masayuki Murayama and generally do just work on OpenIndiana (binaries are available as part of the source code tarballs, but you're encouraged to recompile them with GLDv3 Makefile's on OpenIndiana, see details on the project's web page).


NOTE:For most video cards, which are not explicitly supported, vgatext driver will work, but will not provide any DRI capabilities.Systems with combined discrete graphics and Intel integrated adapter (like Nvidia Optimus) are likely to be unusable with Xorg.

Thank you for installing HeSuVi! The basic setup is now done and you should already hear a clear difference. Move the master volume slider and test if the loudness of sounds actually changes for you. If this is not working, then there is probably some kind of driver incompatability, check out Troubleshooting for help. Should the volume slider work, you might now want to follow the next steps for the best surround experience.


This workaround has almost no increase in latency (see Audio Latency Measurements) by using the free Audio Repeater with Kernel Streaming (KS) to copy the binauralized audio from a 7.1 capable device to your stereo-only output. The 7.1 device can be any unused sound card as long as Equalizer APO installs fine, the drivers use WavePci and multiple pins can be opend on the KS filter.
